The Call of the Wild by Jack London

Summary:
There is a dog called Buck and he lives with his owner in Judge Miller's estate. Then he his stolen by the gardener who sells him to dog traders. Then he is shipped to Canada to carry and pull gold because there's a gold rush up there. He becomes a sled dog. And in the pack he is in he gets into fight with the lead dog Spitz and Buck kills him and becomes the lead dog. After a while with his first owner Francois and Perrault's give him up to another mail carrier who sells him to some inexperienced gold hunters. They hurt the dogs and treat them bad. Buck then is saved by Thornton who takes him in. Then him and Thornton began a good friendship. Buck saves Thornton a few time like a fight. And he wins a wager of pulling a thousand pound sled that Thornton wins over a thousand five hundred dollars for. Then Thornton goes with his friends to find an old mine. While this is happening Buck is befriending wolves. And one night he leaves the camp to go with the wolves and when he returns he finds Thornton died, killed by Yeehat Indians. He goes after the Indians and kills some of them. Then he returns to the wild and becomes a leader of some wolf pack. He goes back every year to mourn Thornton's death. He also becomes feared by the Indians and he is given the name Ghost Dog.

Review:
The book was good I think I liked it. It had a lot of action and it was intense at some points. I wanted to read it completely in one sitting. I would tell others to read it because if they like adventure and dogs and stories with all emotions in it they would like it.

"the successful champion, the dominant primordial beast." Because it shows the importance of being the big dog and not being afraid of anything and being thought to survive.
