Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom

Summary:
This book is about a guy named Mitch and his favorite professor form college, Morrie. When Mitch graduates from college he promises he will keep in touch with his professor and ends up not. He was flipping through the channels of his TV one night and saw a show "nightline" where he sees its an interview of his old professor who was diagnosed with ASL. Mitch then flies out to where Morrie lives every Tuesday because that was when most of their lessons were held when he was in college. Each Tuesday the lesson is something different but all having to do with life and how Morrie is slowly deteriorating. After 14 Tuesdays Morrie passes away, This time Mitch keeps his promise by going to Morrie's gravestone every Tuesday and talks to him about his problems because even though Morrie is dead he is still listening.

Review:
I thought that this was a very good book. It shows a friendship between two people that had ended but once they saw each other they picked up from where they last finished. This book deffinitly shows you how your life can vanish before your eyes or another persons life, and with that Mitch learned lifes greatest lessons. I would recommend this book to anyone because it was really good and anyone can learn from it.

Quote:
"The fact is, there is no foundation, no secure ground, upon which people may stand today if it isn't the family. It's become quite clear to me as i've been sick. If you don't have the support and love and caring and concern that you get from a family, you don't have much at all. Love is so supremely important. As our great poet Auden said, 'Love each other or perish.' " I chose this quote because i think what it states is true. Having the support, love, care, and concern from a family is one of the greatest things you can have. When somethings wrong and you have all those things from a family, it helps you get through. But when you don't have any of that you really don't have that much at all, you don't have those people to help you through and it's so important to have that.
