TWILIGHT SERIES: ECLIPSE
BY STEPHENIE MEYER
629 PAGES
This book was recommended to me by a friend. This book, much like the preceding 2 is about a girl. Bella, and her love for this boy Edward who happens to be a vampire. She lives in forks and recently a female vampire has been reeking havoc near her hometown in seek of revenge. Bella finds herself in the middle of the actions and in need of help from Edward. All the while she is kindling a suspiciously close friendship with Jacob, a werewolf. She finds herself trying to decide between Edward and Jacob and weather or not to become a vampire. Oh yea and she’s months from graduating.
The audience of this book seems to be pretty much anyone willing to listen to an obviously fictitious romance. Someone girly who likes love but also action. Its aimed towards teenagers mostly because it relates to them even with its extremes. The style is very personal and insightful to the emotions of the characters. It focuses on the problems she faces and her attitude towards how to deal or solve them.
- “I forget what it’s like, not having everyone know everything all the time. Having a quiet, private place inside my head.”Jacob Black, Eclipse, Chapter 8, p.174
I liked this because I thought it was interesting, what she was referring to I can relate to.
- “I go a little berserk when I try to leave you. I don’t think I’ll go so far again. It’s not worth it.”Edward Cullen, Eclipse, Chapter 8, p.189
I chose this because it shows how much they really do need each other and how devoted they are to one and other.
- “ you are the only one who has ever touched my heart and it will forever be yours.” Edward chap 8, p 195
This one pretty much goes along with the one above it, self explanatory, it helps define there relationship
This book was a pretty interesting read. Although it is obviously aimed at a more girly audience I didn’t have trouble interacting with the piece in a personal and relative way. I could relate to some of the problems or themes in the story. And I really like the action in it. it kept me reading and I had a good time reading it.

Brief summary: The book is the third one to the twilight series. Bella has Edward back in her life but is trying to have Jacob as a friend still. Now knowing that Jacob is a werewolf and Edward is a vampire they don’t get along very because of there past. Bella is always choosing between Jacob and her beast friend or Edward the love of her life. Victoria is still trying to get revenge on Bella and builds a newborn vampire team to get her. She gives them pieces of clothing so they know her scent and go looking for her. The werewolf’s and vampires have to keep Bella safe and out of harm from Victoria. The vampires alone are not strong enough. They put aside their differences and work together to save the one they all love.
The audience is her speaking in first person.
Style: The writing style is very descriptive on how she explains things.. She expresses her feelings about everyone with love and passion or hate and she does not hold back on how the characters feel.“We’re doing this your way. Because my way doesn’t work. I call you stubborn, but look at what I’ve done. I’ve clung with such idiotic obstinacy to my idea of what’s best for you, though it’s only hurt you. Hurt you so deeply, time and time again. I don’t trust myself anymore. You can have happiness your way. My way is always wrong.”
Passages:
“I’ll be back so soon you won’t have time to miss me. Look after my heart — I’ve left it with you.”It just really shows how much Edward cares for Bella. No matter where he goes he always has to make her feel like she is the most important person ever.
“Normal humans stay away from monsters Bella.” Said JacobI just think it was wrong of him to say that when he is a werewolf and is not much better than Edward.
“I don’t care who I werewolf and who is vampire you are Jacob and he is Edward and I am Bella. And nothing else maters.”Bella is showing that she doesn’t care what any of them are all she cares about is having them around and not losing them and it makes it hard because they don’t understand that.
I interacted with the book because it talks about how she goes through everyday problems, maybe not problems that we go through. But she deals with a lot of disappointments, happiness and sadness witch I have in my life. She deals with having to fight to be friends with people and sometimes I feel like I have to fight people to be friends with other people. I think the parts that spoke the most where all the friendship parts with Bella and Jacob. Jacob is always trying to look at for her and I feel like that’s how some of my friends are just always looking out so I don’t get hurt.

Im excited to finish the Twilight series! I'm only on the second book, but i think that when i read Eclipse it'll be much more exciting. I'm not really one for such fictious plots, but the romance is what hooked me. I am deffinitly going to finish the series so i can see how Bella reacts to all of this commotion.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the description of this story. It really looks like you enjoyed this book. I am not sure if I would've felt the same way. That's because I don't really like books with fantasy. I prefer books which are more realistic to the modern world. But other than that, it seems like an interesting book!

I really enjoyed your description of the story you read. It looks to be an amazing read, but i feel as though i would hate this book. Thats only because i hate every book. i prefer sports books. Books with fantasy in it, not my thing. Other than the fantasy aspect, it seems to me that your story was very entertaining.
