The book is about a male doctor named Paul and middle-aged women named Adrienne. Paul makes a mistake in his work and loses and patient making Paul have to go down to Rodanthe to apologize to the family for his mistake. Where he meets unhappy divorced women, Adrienne. Adrienne was running a hotel for the weekend for her friend. That’s where Paul was staying for the weekend when he went down to Rodanthe. When a storm came and Paul and Adrienne had to work together to make it through the storm. When they realize that both of them belong together and they work together to become happy again.
The audience of the book would be her telling the story to the people reading it I think that because she’s telling the story not just talking.
“Before he met you, he was trying to find something. After you came along, he’d already found it.” I liked this quote because it’s talking about how he was so unhappy until she came into his life.
“Before we met, I was as lost as a person could be and yet you saw something in me that somehow gave me direction again.” I like this one because it’s like what everyone wants for someone to look on the inside of them and not just by the outside of them.
“Saying good-bye to you today is the hardest thing I’ll ever have to do, and when I get back, I can honestly swear that I’ll never do it again. I love you now for what we’ve already shared and I love now in anticipation for all that’s to come. You are the best thing that ever happened to me. I miss you already, but I’m sure in my heart that you’ll be with me always. In the past few days I spent with you, you became my dream.” I like this quote because it shows that all that they have been through with being hurt that they just let someone back into their lives.
The book was really good and I liked it a lot. It showed how things in life don’t always go right at first but it can change later on in your life. They both went through struggles and made it through witch I can relate to my life because ive been through things and made it through them also. They book is just an overall really good book to read and see the things that could happen to you.

I saw the movie version of this a few months ago and loved it! My mom really wanted to watch it and to humor her I watched it too but I really liked it. Its more than just some adult romance its about finding yourself and whats important to you. Love knows no age and our culture tells us to get married and have kids almost right after college. Divorce rates are ridiculous because we desperately look for love that doesn't always exists. You seemed to really enjoy the book so I'll consider reading it as well.
ReplyDeleteI saw this movie and when I heard that it was also a book I became instantly interested. It sounds as though the book is a mirror version of the book. Both versions really utilized the idea of love and how you have to work hard to find the perfect partner. Paul and Adriennes relationship was very strong and they both found happiness within the other one.
