If I Did It, prologue by Pablo F. Fenjves, Beaufort Books, 283 pages
I was given this book by my mother, who also had read this novel.
The main part of this book is a rerun of the alleged murder case that took place in 1994 involving the deaths of Ron Goodman, and Nicole Brown Simpson, and the alleged accuser O.J. Simpson. The novel is based on the method O.J. would’ve used if he had committed those murders. The story also explains the details leading up to that murder case. The book was filled with multiple cliff hangers and foreshadowing. The author somehow reverses the turn of events involving the characters. Everything that O.J. said happened with Nicole actually was himself committing the event. The plot took place in 1985 and it explained the events that happened between that time span. Overall this novel kept the reader guessing every chapter.
The audience for this novel is all of the people that accused O.J. for committing the crime. O.J. fully explained each of his actions that he did in the event of the murders.
The writing style that the author uses is very strange. He kept the reader somewhat confused. At the end of the chapter the reader was left with asking themselves a question, only to be answered in the very next chapter.
There were three memorable quotes that really spoke to me
I'm going to tell you a story you've never heard before, because no one knows this story the way I know it." The opening line of "If I Did It: Confessions of a Killer" this quote set the tempo for what was ahead.
“As soon as I saw Nicole, I knew that I only wanted to make her happy and never hurt her”. Page 87. This statement seemed nice but in the end he was accused of killing this woman who he “never wanted to hurt”.
“I moved past the front door [of Nicole's condo] to take a closer look. There were candles burning inside, and I could hear faint music playing. It was obvious that Nicole was expecting company. I wondered who the hell it was this time. I wondered if maybe Faye was coming over with some of her boy-toys so they could all get wild and dirty while my kids were sleeping upstairs.” This quote struck as odd because O.J. was angry but Nicole had already divorced him, he should’ve moved on.
This book was important because it teaches people to analyze every detail and not to judge. I could relate to the confusion that the reader was being left with, because I was always confused and over thinking, but in the end I understood everything. I believe that when O.J. told us about his life story and his personality I was able to learn more about this man, whether he did commit the crime or not. I would strongly recommend this novel to any reader that is looking for a challenging and exciting reading experience.

Ashley Lapierre- This book seems like something that I would read. I read a lot about murder and investigation, and i also like reading books that make you think. I don't know a lot about what happened with O.J Simpson, but that would just give me an opportunity to learn something. The author uses simple vocabulary, and while reading the passages I got into it, and hooked. This seems like a very interesting book, that anyone could learn from and enjoy.
