The Pact: Three Young Men Make a Promise and Fulfill a Dream

Summary:
The Pact is about three friends who grew up in Newark, a city that is known for the worst place to raise children. It is a deep journey of these young men wanting to be somewhat different from other people in their inner city. The three friends, George Jenkins, Sampson Davis, and Rameck Hunter made a pact that they will go to Seton Hall University and later become doctors. However, it was a challenge for them because growing up in inner city neighborhood is very tough because peer pressure and the fast life of the streets were tempting. The stuck together and fought through hardships and now they have become doctors who are giving back to the community.

Review:
Overall, I really liked this book because it meant a lot to me. It was motivating and inspirational to me. The book would encourage the kids from the inner city help achieve their goals with help from their friends. And this story was heart warming because people like us who did not grow up in those kinds of situations will get to know how bad and hard situations they were in but they fought it and became successful doctors. I would definitely recommend this book to people because it is quick and easy read and also it would be a inspirational book to people who are in these kinds of situation.

Quote:
“In college, the three of us stuck together to survive and thrive in a world that was different from anything we had ever known. We provided one another with
a kind of positive peer pressure.”
I picked this quote because the three of them were helping each other to fulfill their dreams and go through hard times together. I also picked this quote because I believe this is what friends should do.
