Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen

Summary:
In life all you really need is at least one best friend someone that is just like you but for different reasons. Halley was never one of the most loved girls, she was always a little bit of an outsider until Scarlett moves in down the street. Scarlett and Halley soon realize they need each other. Halley goes off to summer camp but receives a phone call from Scarlett, her boyfriend has died and little does she know she is carrying his baby. Together they learn that friendship is one of the strongest bonds you can have throughout your life.

Review:
This is an extremely emotional book with a huge twist in it. I would recommend this to anyone that wants and easy read with love, emotions, and a good amount of action. This book was very hard to put down once you get started but the ending will really make you fall in love. You never forget how friendship can carry you through even the toughest decisions.

Quote:
“Life is an ugly, awful place to not have a best friend.”
I chose this quote simply because it is very true to my life. If I did not have a best friend who I can share everything with and trust not to say anything it would be an awfully lonely life. Everyone needs a best friend to share the happy and sad feelings with.

  1. i read this book in the summer and i absolutely loved it and i would read it again. Like the review said the book was hard to put down once you get started reading it. I like the quote too because it is true, you should always have a best friend to be able to share things with especially one like Scarlett.-- Jill Frost

  3. This book sounds like it would be interesting. I've read a couple of books by Sarah Dessen before, but I didn't find some that good. However, this one sounds like something I might be able to enjoy.

Also, on a different note, I thought the quote you picked was ironic.

  4. This book seems like a very interesting and intriguing story. I like how their friendship is what keeps them going, which makes me think a lot about my own friendships. I also like how the story isn't boring at all. I like this quote because its true, it really is an awful because you need someone to lean on, have fun with and will be there for you during your worst and best times of your life.

  6. After reading the summary, I want to go take this book out of the library. I love Sarah Dessen. She is a great author. It seems like a very emotional book, but that is what makes it interesting. I like that quote to because it is very true. People need someone to lean on and if they don't, life can be very tough.

  7. I read The Truth About Forever, and Dreamland by Sarah Dessen. Both books i absolutely loved. I think i will read this book next because it is Sarah Dessen, and sounds good. The quote was relative to high school students, and brought across a good point. Books that you can relate to are the ones you cant stop reading, and enjoy the most.

This book was very good to read and it was emotional but it made you realize how much friends mean to you and help you in hard times. When i read this book i couldn't put it down either it was so good.
