Summary:
This book is about a young boy named Jamie,his mother, and sister Nin. The story starts off when Jamie witnesses his mother's boyfriend through his sister across the room. Luckily, Nin lands in Jamie's mother's arms. From that point on,the book deals with the struggles they face as they leave Jamie's mother's boyfriend and brave the world by themselves. They try to be on their own. The main theme of this story is the fight Jamie has finding strength inside of himself to move on.
Review:
I really enjoyed this book a lot. It was very interesting but at the same time I didn't really enjoy the beginning or how the story started off. There isn't much detail given throughout the story so at times you are confused. You are given little detail and the rest you just have to piece together the rest. I would highly recommend this book to both adults and children.

i have never read this book but it seems like a good book. i think many people could also relate to this book to their life. i don't really like books that don't have enough details, like the review said. i might check this book out.

I haven't read this book but from this review I would really like to read it. I like the message that is portrayed in the book. The quote is really powerful and I feel that it does sum up the book very well. Many people could relate to this book because everyone has problems they have to face. -Kayla Levreault
ReplyDeleteHEATHER POTTER- I havn't had a chance to read this book but it does sound like something interesting. The quote really does show how strong the mother is and how her concern is her children. She wants to keep them safe. I like books that leave you thinking too, and from the persons opinion who read it... it seems like that type of book.
ReplyDeleteAmanda Tesini - Although i haven't read this book, it sounds like something that could actually happen and i enjoy reading books like that. I think that the fact that the mom stayed strong throughout having to leave her boyfriend shows how much she cares for her children. In the last sentence of the review where it talks about Jamie having to find strength in himself it makes the book seem like even more of a good read.

This looks like a very interesting book. The story looks very compelling and it appears to be a somewhat tragic tale of a family. The theme of perseverance seems to really capture the essence of what the book was about and the goals of the family. From your quote it seems that the mother is the core of the family and keeps everyone together. From your review, this looks like a book worth reading.

ReplyDeleteThis book looks very interesting. It reminds me of a movie, but i cant remember the name. I think the description of this book teaches you cant rely on people and you have to be brave and be independent.
